Dictionary.com says that a Southern Belle is “a beautiful and charming woman from the southern US.” Some describe a belle as having social grace, charm, the ability to “glisten” rather than sweat and have a mint julep all while making a gorgeous dress from curtains. (That’s a Gone With the Wind reference by the way.)  While I agree with all of those descriptions, maybe with the exception of the curtain dress, I think not only does a belle possess the qualities of having social grace and charm, she is also classy, genuine, loves sports, cares about her community and most importantly, THIS southern belle loves good food!  (And the accompanying adult beverages of course!)

So what this blog all about?  A Hungry Southern Belle?  While Gone With the Wind had Scarlett and Ashley, this modern day love story has Casey and Riche (Ash), two southern folks that love good food, good drinks and each other and I’m here to tell you about our adventures. Join me on this journey as I (and occasionally Riche and other guest bloggers) share some of my modern day belle musings on recipes, restaurant reviews and all around interesting tidbits surrounding southern hospitality (and maybe some other exotic locations when we get a chance to travel).
