WAR EAGLE y’all!!!  I am still on an absolute Auburn high from this weekend but didn’t want to forget what I promised in my special holiday post last week.  One of our family traditions for both Thanksgiving and Christmas is my Mom’s Cranberry Compote.  There are lots of funny stories from over the years when it felt like Mom made enough to feed a city and we felt like we were eating leftovers for weeks, but in all honesty, this is a favorite side dish…no matter what the rest of the sides are at the meal.  It is fabulous warm…filling the house with the scent of cranberries, oranges and spices.  It’s also yummy served chilled or warmed the next day over vanilla bean ice cream. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!  As this is a family recipe, I thought I would share the original recipe that my Mom shared with me.  This is in her handwriting and I thought fitting to share with all of you. Enjoy!
